Stylized Birthday

Good morning!

Hope you are having a nice Saturday morning, or if you have joined later on in the week then I hope you had a good one!

Anyways todays make will be using the Stylized Birthday Wood-Mount Stamp Set.

This is quite a basic stamp but I love the font and it also acts as a background, sentiment and the main focus of the card all in one go so you don't really need any other stamps apart from this one and some Designer Series Paper and you are off to go!

So I have made quite a few of these cards, when I do cards sometimes I just stamp the same thing loads of times and then figure out what to do with that stamped image afterwards and how to make it fit. Not sure that is how you are supposed to do it but that's what I do!

For the majority of the cards shown here I have used the DSP stacks for the Brights and 2015-2017 In Color collections. There are four designs in these packs and I used these as it keeps the cards simple and lets the stamp be the main focus.

I also used the Polka Dot embossing folder on some of these card backgrounds to just give it a little texture.

The main highlight of these cards are that I used the ombre ink pads on the sentiment, and I think this stamp is one of the best stamps to show off this effect. Unfortunately my photography does not do it as much justice as when you see it in real life but take my worked for it the ombre effect is lovely and cool!

Oh and don't forget to finish the cards off with rhinestones, ribbon and other embellishments! ;-)

Autumn/Winter catalogue Jems Blog Hop

Good morning everyone!

Hope you have enjoyed reading through everyone's blogs so far regarding the new products. I love this catalogue especially the halloween products but have not had enough money to stretch to them... yet! So for my blog I will be using christmas products from the new catalogue.

So I loooove the new Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, it gives a really deep impression and looks just like a knitted jumper! But when using the embossing folder through your die cutting machine make sure you spritz the card with a light covering of water so that the card does not rip as the folder is so thick and detailed.

I used Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green cardstock for the below cards.

For the gingerbread men and eskimo I used the Cookie Cutter Christmas photopolymer bundle, this includes the stamp set and the paper punch.

The sentiment is from theWrapped in Warmth clear mount stamp set, which just goes with the whole nice and cozy feel of the cards.

And last of all I embellished the cards with gold metallic twine and some gold metallic thread.

My husband has also decided to give cardmaking a go and has made some z-fold cards, even I have not made them type of cards yet!

He used the Merry Medley wood mount stamp for the background and then he used the santa body from my Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and punch bundle and for the head and hat he used the Jolly Friends photopolymer bundle, which includes the stamps and a paper punch, which can be seen in the image below.

The slightly bigger head on the body gives a slight humerous feel to the card which is what he was going for as he thinks he is a bit of a comedian sometimes! lol.
