Made my first Shadow Box & Earn Extra Stampin' Rewards!!!

Good morning all!

Sorry there has not been a post this week but I have been away on holiday with my family. It was our very first holiday together, and we went to Centre Parcs which was very nice, the weather held out for us and we had a good time cycling, going for walks, eating lots of food, playing crazy golf (in which I won!), and we also went swimming. Jack, our 7 month son did not like swimming first of all but then we found a lagoon pool that was very warm and he loved that!

Anyways back to crafting I have just joined this facebook group just for SU demonstrators and I have learnt so much! I am quite new to demonstrating so am still trying to find my way but I am loving it at the moment, and wait until you see the new catalogue out on the 1st June, then you will love it even more!!!!

Ok so back to the point, from this facebook group I have just learnt how to make a shadow box! I will try and find the video so that I can credit the person. So I have the base now of the shadow box but it is bare at the moment as I need to decorate it, which I will do once I have the time. So here is my bare basic shadow box, which can be improved but I am quite proud of it as it was my first attempt.

I have used the Bermuda Bay Designer Series Paper to make this card and some whisper white cardstock to go in the middle.

So moving onto a slightly different subject but Stampin' Up! have announced that in the month of June those that host a Stampin' Up! party and spend over £250 will receive extra Stampin' rewards of £25, this means that you get more products for your money!! Woop! Woop!
So if you want to get your hands on this great deal then just contact me now and I will be happy to help you host your Stampin' Up! party. You don't need much, just a table and some chairs, tea/wine and some cake and biccies! And I will bring the rest.

Contact me now on the above CONTACT ME tab to have a chat about it.

Thanks for reading!

Retiring Swallowtail and Pedal Pusher

Good morning all!!!

The first part of this post will be about the retiring Swallowtail stamp, that I believe may be sold out which is a shame as it is a lovely stamp if you did not manage to get your hands on it.

I love this stamp that is why I have done quite a different few cards using it, and even though it is retiring I won't be letting it go anytime soon!

These cards were done using the aqua painter and watercolour paper. I used ink colours Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Chocolate Chip, firstly I picked up some Chocolate Chip ink from my ink pad with my aqua painter and painted it onto the stamp where the Butterfly's body is, then I painted the inner wings in the same way as mentioned with Rich Razzleberry and the outer wings were painted with the other two colours.I then placed the inked stamp onto some watercolour paper and viola!

I then used the sentiment from the Work of Art stamp set and finished off both cards with some cotton ribbon in the colours of Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry, and some pearl and rhinestone embellishments.

Right the second part of my post is regarding the now retired Sale-a-bration Pedal Pusher stamp. Even though it is now retired it does not mean that you do not have it and cannot still make cards with it. Also I thought I have not had a chance to properly use it yet so thought why not now!

I stamped the bike, the basket and the flowers (in the basket) onto a piece of whisper white card and then cut it out using the Lots of Labels framelit dies. I then stamped the sentiments and coloured in the image. I punched a hole in the die cut cardstock and using the cotton ribbon in Real Red tied through the whole. The Elegant Eggplant paper from the Regals DSP stack was used as a backing mount and then the stamped image was stuck on using dimensionals.

This was quite a simple card as there is not much to do for this project but I think the backing paper makes it seem quite busy and fills up the card a bit, which makes the paper worth the money!

Well that is it from me for now, if you like anything then please feel free to leave a message.

New 2016-2018 In-Colours & new 2016-2017 catalogue Stamp set!

Good morning to you all!

Sorry I have been a bit slack with posts lately but that is because I have been spending a lot of my time crafting and I now have so many cards to show you that there may be more than one post a week, eek! I just now need to write the post...

The new catalogue is available now so if you spend over £30 with me at my online Stampin' Up! shop then you will receive the new 2016-2017 catalogue*.

Soooo the new In-Colours, I am sure you have seen by now from other demonstrator websites that they are Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum. They are gorgeous colours especially the green, it is so rich.

I also made my first preorder purchase and this included the Pop of Paradise stamp set and Pop of Paradise Designer Series Paper (DSP), in which I made the below cards with:

The colours are clockwise from the top left:
Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo.

I love the sentiments that go with this stamp set and I also love the images, a pineapple, flamingo, palm leaves... well actually I love everything about this stamp set as it is just fun  and the bright colours really show the images off. The zigzag strip is from the Pop of Paradise DSP, the collection is made up of basic black, whisper white, melon mambo and gold papers.

The below card is similar to the above cards, using the same DSP and the same stamp set, but the background palm leaves were embossed with the new copper embossing powder from the new catalogue, which is gorgeous (thank you Sam!)

Anyways that is it from me for now but keep an eye out for new posts and please leave me a message if you like what you see!

*The new catalogue is available now so if you spend over £30 with me at my online Stampin' Up! shop then you will receive the new 2016-2017 catalogue. However, if you do order with me make sure that you do not click the button that says to have no contact from your demonstrator as this means I cannot see your details and cannot send you the catalogue or any special offers or thank you cards!

Jems Blog Hop - Retired Products - Six-Sided Sampler & Garden In Bloom Combo

Back to the start of the Blog Hop!

Good morning everyone!

You will have just joined me from Julie Wade's blog. I am sure you have been enjoying all the posts so far, I am still new at Stampin' Up! and at blogging so forgive me if I am doing this wrong and I am hoping some one will let me know if I am doing anything wrong!

So anyways the theme of this month's blog hop is Retired Products, so I have completed some cards using the Six Sided Sampler stamp set.

My first card uses the Six Sided Sampler set and the current Garden in Bloom stamp set. I decided to do a gatefold card, stamped flowers from the garden in bloom stamp set in the colours of Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, and Garden Green.

I then stamped hexagonal patterns and a sentiment from the retired Six Sided Sampler stamp set in the colours of Wisteria Wonder, Chocolate Chip, and Wild Wasabi. These I cut out using the retired Hexagonal Punch and stuck them onto the card using dimensionals. And that was my card.

For my next card I stamped the lines from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set as I like that grungy look but still pretty with the flower patterns. Again I used Wisteria Wonder and Wild Wasabi ink colours and stamped patterned hexagons using the Six Sided Sampler stamp set, cut them out using the hexagon punch and stuc them onto the card. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set.

So that is it from me for now, I hoped you liked my blog but I am open to any improvements or suggestions that you may have!

Anyways, if you click on the right hand picture below then you will be directed to the next blog, which is Karen Watts' blog, and some more Stampin' Up! fun!!!! And if you missed the previous blog, which is Julie Wade's Createhandmadehappiness then just click on the left hand picture.

Becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator FAQ's

Q. What is the quarterly minimum and when are the quarters?
It is £270 catalogue price which is £225 net. The quarters are Jan-March, April-June, July-September, Oct-December.
When you join SU, you are already within a calendar quarter, so Stampin’ Up! allows you that first part quarter as a ‘grace’ period. A sort of settling in period for you to find your feet.

Q. What happens if I don’t meet my minimums?
You will be given an extra month to try and achieve them, but if you don’t, you are not required to return anything to SU, you aren’t obliged to do anything more, and aren’t tied in to anything. You will simply go into an ‘inactive’ state, and no longer be able to sell or buy at the 20% discount. However, should you want to rejoin, you can join the same upline immediately by buying a fresh starter kit. But should you wish to go to another upline, you must wait 90 days.

Q. Do my personal purchases count towards the quarterly minimums?
Yes! SU doesn’t mind who does the buying, whether it’s you, your neighbour, or someone else. They will just look at your total figures.

Q. How do I get the discount, and how do I earn commission?
As a demonstrator, you get the immediate 20% discount off the net price at the point you make your purchase through the dedicated demonstrator website. SU does all the calculations for you!  If you are selling to someone you receive the same 20% but as a commission rather than a discount.

Q. I only want to buy products for myself. Is that okay?
Of course! I welcome all people to my team, whether they want to make a business, or get a discount for their own hobby, or anything in between. I appreciate all my team equally, and give as much support as I’m asked for, and as much guidance as needed.

Q. I think I might want to make this a business in the future, but at this stage, I just want to buy a few things for me, is it okay to change my mind as to what demo I want to be at a later date?
Yes! Every person who signs with SU and with my team joins up equally. We are all called demonstrators, even those who don’t actively demonstrate. However you choose to enjoy your SU benefits is up to you, and should you head down one ‘path’ and want to move in another direction, then I will fully support you along the way.

Q. Do I need a blog?
No! Having a blog is beneficial, but not essential. You can have a successful business without any online interaction whatsoever.
